In a word 'NO' It is the location of the car that matters.

Hi, I have had my car here for 5 years on UK plates. It is insured with Copeland Insurance ( http://www.andrewcopeland.co.uk/gcm.htm ) in the UK who specialise with UK registered cars in France and they accept the French Controle Techinique. I had a problem and they paid up in a week. I have a Citroen AX Fully Comp for £156.
