Monday 21st August 2006Holiday RomanceSummer time is wedding time, and many people think it would be romantic to be married in France - not realising that you actually have to live in the country to get married here. Not only that, not everyone realises that the civil ceremony is the only part of the marriage process that has legal status in France (although you are free to follow it with a religious ceremony). To love, honour and cherishAngloINFO's Getting Married in France INFOrmation Page covers the essentials you need to know about the process to follow, and paperwork you will need, to be legally married in France. A legal alternative to marriage is the Pacte Civile de Solidarité (PACS) which confers on a couple many of the legal benefits of traditional marriage. It can also be used by same-sex couples. See AngloINFO's recently updated INFOrmation Page on the Pacte Civile de Solidarité. Once the official formalities are in order, it's time for the celebration! The AngloFILE has listings of all the many services that may be needed on the day, from the venue for a religious ceremony to party venues, photographers and more. Click these links for more:
