Monday 4th September 2006

Back to School

As those with young families will know, this is the time of year for la rentrée - or time to go Back To School. For parents, the preparations will have been going on for some time already buying that long list of essential books and stationery.

The facts at your fingertips

AngloINFO has lots of information and plenty of other resources regarding Education and Training in France. For a start, you can read up on the general process of Finding a School from the EU Factsheet. Another EU Factsheet provides a brief introduction to The Educational System.

  • Then AngloINFO brings you the low-down on Schooling in France, which includes information on Special Needs education and what to do about bullying in the school
  • The AngloFILE has a whole category devoted to Education & Training, with sub-categories providing English-speaking resources specialising in a variety teaching services
  • The INFOrmation Page on Parents & Children fills you in on things that any parent in France will need to know - traditions in the school, out of class activities - to be actively involved in their child's education in this country
  • And if you want to prepare for the next holiday break (or find out why some schools have gone back early this year) see the INFOrmation Page on School Holidays

It can be stressful period, so make sure you have the information you need to make the process as easy as possible. And if you have any questions for other anglophone parents in France, why not ask them on The AngloINFO Forum?
